SurfingtheCosmosisanoriginalbookofphotographsandtextthatvisuallyexploresthehigh/lowofenergyintheslumsofRiodeJaneiroascomparedwiththehigh-techphysicsofCERN,wherediscoveringtheoriginsoftheuniverseandtheelementaryparticlesfromwhichitismadeareexamined.Withinthisvisualstoryaretheunplannedbeautifuldrawingsthathumansmakeinspacewithelectricalwires,whetherfromthefavelaorCERN.These“drawings“inspiredaseriesofartworks/photographsthatarepicturedinthisbook,oftenalongwiththeirphotographicsourceorthespiritofthecommunityfromwhichtheyarederived(eitherfavelaorCERN).ThehumanenergyofthefavelaisalsomirroredinCERNwithonespecificcomparisonofthegraffitifromRioandthechalkboardsofCERN,bothviewedasworksofartandsourcesthatmotivatedtheauthor’sresponseasdemonstratedinhispreviousworksthroughexamplesincludingpaintings,fashionscarves,handmaderugsfromNepal,bamboocottonfacemasksalongwithsurfboards(chalkboards)andskatedecks.
